Featuring Christopher Grunseich, MD, of National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), this webinar will include a disease overview and discussion of multidisciplinary management strategies, the importance of genetic testing, and incorporating recent clinical advancements into patient care.
● Recognize symptoms of and use genetic testing to differentially diagnose SBMA from other neuromuscular conditions that present similarly.
● Explore evidence-based guidelines and best practices for managing SBMA.
● Utilize collaboration and communication between healthcare providers from different specialties (e.g., neurology, PT/OT, speech/swallow evaluation, etc.) to ensure coordinated care for patients with
SBMA.
● Incorporate recent advances in clinical studies into patient care and provide guidance to patients on the benefit of and the opportunities for participation in SBMA research.
