In this grand rounds webinar, Liberty Jenkins and Marian Leon from Forbes Norris ALS/MDA Treatment & Research Clinic provide an overview of best practices and learnings that help to optimize multidisciplinary care of patients with NMDs in a private practice setting. The webinar reviews the benefits of multidisciplinary care for management of NMDs, important considerations for implementing multidisciplinary care, use of telehealth to promote multidisciplinary care, and various models used to incorporate expertise from external providers.
- Understanding the benefits of different multidisciplinary team designs in the private practice setting
- Identifying facilitating factors and hurdles to creating a multidisciplinary primary care team
- Implementing team designs in their own practices that would benefit their patient populations
- Identify and obtain telemedicine tools and available resources to import disease-specific training and outside expertise into the private practice setting
